I bought some weights used and want gray paint. What paint should I use & # of layers?

What they paint depends in the material being sprayed. If metal then you have what is known in the trade as a product type DTM. If you are covered with plastic requires a different type product. Best bet would be to go to a distributor of paints and speak with a sales representative. I used an acrylic paint that PPG DTM, part # 90-374, which bonds well to metal and plastic and if done correctly is very durable. I think it's an industrial type coating. Hope this helps!
